Flight Disruptions

In case of operational disturbances (severe weather conditions, industrial action, etc.) AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo will do their utmost to provide you with accurate and timely information on the situation. Please check this page regularly for updates on the current situation. We would also like to invite you to use our Track and Trace solution to get a full view of your shipments and get relevant notice. Network adjustments 

Air France-KLM is following developments in the wake of the outbreak of the coronavirus in China closely and is maintaining intensive contact with various national and international health and aviation authorities (including the WHO). Based on the most recent information obtained from these institutions, we have decided to adjust our network to/from China as follows:

Air France:

  • All flights to/from Shanghai (PVG) and Beijing (PEK) have been suspended up to and including 28 March 2020;
  • As from 29 March 2020, AF (together with KLM) will gradually resume operations to/from Shanghai and Beijing, alternating one daily flight to each destination. In this way, Shanghai and Beijing will be served daily from Europe, via Paris or Amsterdam, depending on the day of operation. A normal flight schedule should be resumed as from 13 April 2020;
  • For the time being, flights to/from Wuhan will remain suspended.

 

KLM:

  • All flights to/from Shanghai (PVG) and Beijing (PEK) have been suspended up to and including 28 March 2020.
  • As from 29 March 2020, KLM (together with Air France) will gradually resume operations to/from Shanghai and Beijing, alternating one daily flight to each destination. In this way, Shanghai and Beijing will be served daily from Europe, via Paris or Amsterdam, depending on the day of operation. A normal flight schedule should be resumed as from 13 April 2020;
  • For the time being, services to/from Chengdu (CTU), Hangzhou (HGH) and Xiamen (XMN) will remain suspended up to and including 28 March 2020.


Our flights to/from Taipei (TPE) will operate as planned.

Flights to/from Hong Kong (HKG) will continue to operate although we decided to cancel below mentioned flights:

Corona situation - Questions & Answers

Q. Does Air France-KLM still operate to China?

A. As from 3 February all flights to/from mainland China have been suspended. Information will be updated regularly on this page.

Q. Which airports are impacted by these measures?

A. Air France and KLM suspended all flights to/from HGH, CTU, XMN, PVG, PEK and WUH. Flights to/from HKG and TPE are not impacted.

Q. What will Air France KLM Martinair Cargo do with shipments currently in transit to China?

A. Solutions will be offered on flights that will operate the coming days. When a shipment can not be shipped to China, customers will be contacted by Customer Service and/or Account Manager to pick up their shipment at origin.

Q. What to do with shipments that are currently still at Chinese Ports and can not be collected?

A. Shipments that are already in Chinese stations can be collected as usual, applying regular procedures. All GHAs are open for business. Of course, due to the virus, precautionary measures like wearing a mask and allowing for a temperature scan will be mandatory different GHAs may adopt different procedures).

On the Export side (from China), no cargo or mail that has been accepted (after RCS) is left behind or will be left behind after the last flights operate from PVG and PEK.

Q. Does Air France KLM Martinair Cargo invoice storage charges during this period?

A. All shipments already accepted will be shipped to final destination or returned to the shipper by origin depending on the choice of the customer. No new bookings can be accepted currently.

Q. Does Air France KLM Martinair Cargo invoice additional rental charges for containers?

A. Air France KLM Martinair Cargo will contact impacted customers to define a revised planning in order to prevent additional rental charges.

Q. Does Air France KLM Martinair Cargo offer alternative routes to/from China?

A. Interline solutions are not available at this moment.

Q. When will Air France and KLM start operating again?

A. The flight suspension to Beijing (PEK) and Shanghai (PVG) will be effective until Sunday March 15. After that, the situation will be re-evaluated. Flights to CTU, XMN, HGH and WUH are suspended until Sunday March 29.
